Parents In School

We offer many opportunities for parents to become involved in school life. We have several parents’ evenings throughout the year, offering a more formal opportunity to come into school. There are also opportunities for parents to come into school to find out more about the curriculum and what the children are learning in school.

We also invite parents into school for performances, sports events, learning outcomes etc. when the children share their achievements.

We encourage and welcome parent helpers in school. There are many opportunities for parents to be involved, either in the classroom, the library, with school trips and events. Some parents are able to offer weekly support while others find it easier to offer help on individual occasions. If parents would like to know more about how they can help in school please contact the school office.

All parents who help in school or on trips must have an enhanced DBS check. This involves completion of an online form and showing at least 3 forms of identification. If you would like to help in school, please call into the office to enquire about completing a DBS form and to pick up an application form.

Friends of Park Gate Primary School

As soon as a child starts at Park Gate, the parents automatically become members of the ‘Friends of Park Gate’. This active, hardworking group of parents work continuously throughout the year to raise additional funds for the school and organise social events for parents and children.

Once again, parents get involved at a level that suits the time they have available. Some parents become involved with the committee, taking an active role in planning and organising all events. Other parents offer help for individual events or attend the social activities.

Newsletters from the Friends are sent home on a regular basis, informing parents of the various events that are forthcoming and giving details of how any funds that have been raised have been used in school.
