Oracy October starts tomorrow! 🎉

This month, we are putting a special focus on helping our children develop their speaking, listening and communication skills.

Throughout October, we will be sharing a fun weekly Oracy Challenge for families to enjoy together at home. These simple activities will encourage children to talk, listen, share their ideas and ask questions – all while having fun together!

🏆 Oracy Awards

We are also launching our new Oracy Awards!

Each week, one child from every year group will be recognised during Celebration Assembly for demonstrating fantastic communication skills. They will then have the exciting opportunity to keep the Oracy trophy in their classroom for the following week.

💬 Every Conversation Counts!

Oracy isn't just about formal speaking activities. Every conversation matters.

At school, we will be encouraging children to listen carefully, build on one another's ideas and respectfully challenge thinking.

At home, you can support your child simply by talking together, asking them questions, encouraging them to explain their ideas and giving them time to share their thoughts.

We are really excited to begin our Oracy journey and look forward to working together with our families to help our children become confident, thoughtful and articulate communicators.
